HMB is an active metabolite of the Leucine amino acid with important anti-catabolic and immuno-modulating functions.

It has been calculated that about 5% of Leucine is metabolized into HMB (hydroxy-methyl-butyrate) and therefore about 60g of Leucine would be required to reach the recommended 3g of HMB.

Its functions are connected to those of Leucine, in fact HMB can regulate biosynthesis and protein degradation processes, with obvious sports usefulness in muscle recovery.

HMB can control muscle proteolysis, inhibiting the system involved in the protein cell breakdown and, taken before exercise, delays the onset of fatigue, preventing the increase in lactate dehydrogenase. It stimulates muscle hypertrophy through m-Tor and reduces the onset of post-exercise muscular pain (DOMS).

Moreover, it increases maximum strength (observed in exercises such as bench press) and reduces the blood concentration of muscular damage markers.

HMB is superb as an anti-ageing, in fighting sarcopenia (chronic cellular catabolic condition, associated with muscle wasting).

It is therefore a very good ally against the muscle damage all athletes face during exercise.



Take 3 tablets/day, based on the activities to be performed, as follows:

- endurance : 2 tabs before and 1 after training;

- bodybuilding: 3 tabs after training;

- non training days: 1 tab for each of the 3 main meals.
