JOINT+ is a supplement based on glucosamine sulphate, chondroitin sulphate, MSM and vitamin D3, indicated to maintain physiological joint function and healthy cartilage metabolism.

Joint cartilage plays important functions, among which it prevents articular head wear. Its main characteristics are solidity, flexibility and capacity to deform up to a point. These characteristics can change with age but also due to intense physical activity, practising sports that require great intensity and are based on repetitions and frequent impacts.

The main components of cartilages are glycosaminoglycans, water, hyaluronic acid, proteoglycans, molecules of chondroitin sulphate, collagen and elastin, kept together in a collagen matrix.

JOINT+ contains chondroitin sulphate that can contribute to keeping cartilages healthy, capable of resisting compression. Chondroitin is a glycosaminoglycan sulphate, consisting of an alternate chain of sugars. A chondroitin chain can have over 100 sugars, each of them binding sulphate ions in variable quantities and positions. Cartilage is made out of chondroitin that gives it almost all its resistance to compression. JOINT+ contains glucosamine too, that is a liquid surrounding the joints. This sugar is important in cartilage biosynthesis, which stimulates the production of collagen, proteoglycans and hyaluronic acid, capable of cushioning and lubricating. Proteoglycans are found in the extracellular matrix of the human tissues and their peculiarity consists in their ability to attract water. Another important component of JOINT+ is MSM, an organic compound containing sulphur in bioavailable form. Used as a chondroprotector thanks to its ability to stimulate cartilage synthesis, it is thought to contribute to a reduction in pain and inflammation. Useful also to heal wounds and normalize the gastro-intestinal function. Finally, vitamin D3 is important for osteoarticular health.
